Chapter I - The Dawn of New Deaths
I should look back first and recall what happened last time. The most violent tragedy in my whole life. Most of my friends got killed, except for Miguel, who suffered tremendous damage to his memories that he lost memory of at least a year of memory, at least that's what the doctor assumed. After the tragedy, as it is now, I built up an organization that focuses on helping those who are desperate and in need of help. The foundation is called Polar Foundation. The Foundation's goal is to spread awareness, safety, happiness, and hope to several communities. It's been four years ever since Polar Foundation was built.
The Foundation is a huge success, I am really proud about it. About two months the Foundation could only help local towns, and because of the worldwide government's trust, the government built different facilities all around the world, each led by different people with high respect and has incredible leadership skills. Each year, all the Polar Foundation leaders and members would gather in the First Union of the Polar Foundation, the main Foundation union which I lead. Everything in the world is becoming a happy and joy-inducing under the Foundation's help, but to my unawareness, it happened again. The thing I never always wanted has come back.
I woke up in my old bedroom at where I used to live, this must be dad's house, I thought. The room is dimly lit and the curtains are wide and open, letting summer sunlight pierce inside the room. I got out of the bed and took of to eat, heading towards the bedroom door. As I was about to open the bedroom door, a strange knock on the door shrouded the quiet surroundings. Who's even there?, I thought to myself as I held my right palm on the doorknob.
The knock continued, giving me a strange feeling that it might be a mugger. And so I slowly turned the doorknob, leaving a sound of flicking noises, then I suddenly threw out a crotch kick at the person. "Owww!!" The person cried out as the person falls to its knees, holding its crotch. "Jeez, Miss Tiago! Why'd you do such a thing to a man?!" The person cowardly shouted as I look at the person's face, revealing it to be Winston Harkov, the leader of the Twelfth Union of the Polar Foundation located in Russia, Moscow. He specializes in blacksmithing, weaponscrafting, and armory, giving him the title of Ultimate Blacksmith.
"Oh my god! I'm so sorry!" I said as I helped him up. "Anyway, I already arrived here three days ago to prepare for the fifth Foundation anniversary." Harkov said in his thick Russian accent, standing up, still holding his crotch to endure the pain I gave him. I replied, "Oh! Well then, um... are the other Foundation leaders here yet?". Harkov politely answered, "Most of the leaders are here, except for Anthony Diamond, Corona Wright, and Peter Rock.". Those people are always late, it even makes me wonder if they're going to come or not. "Oh and you should get ready, Miss Tiago.", he said.
"Sure! I think you should also go to the First Union now, Mr. Harkov. I don't mind if you have to leave or wait.", I replied humbly. Harkov politely answered, "Oh, I should wait outside then. I don't want to go and destruct your privacy.". I smiled as he left the room and went outside, after that, I looked around, pondering as to why I'm in this place. "It sure is strange that I'm back here... sigh... I think I should go wash myself." I took off and went inside the bathroom and took off my clothes as I turned the valve on.
I'm done taking a shower and done wearing the casual Foundation Leader attire, now all that's left is to eat something so I headed towards the refridgerator. I opened the refridgerator as the hinges did some noise. The fridge is working and there are some food and two bottles of water inside. After I ate, I took a bottle of water, a sandwich, and a slice of quiche from the fridge, stored it in a small paper bag, and went outside to look for Harkov. I saw him right outside the house border, leaning against his car and looking up the sky.
I walked towards him and said, "Here's some food, Mr. Harkov. I think you're hungry so I spared some food for you." Harkov smiled and he shyly grabbed the food and water. "Well, see ya in the First Union, Miss Tiago! Hope you have a safe way over there!" he kindly said as he went inside his car and drove off to the city. I smiled and called a taxi and went off to the 1st Union. A minute passed then the taxi driver recognized me and asked, "You're Baylie Tiago of the Polar Foundation's First Union's leader... am I correct?". I was not surprised because I get that all the time, so I answered, "Yes. I am Baylie Tiago, and I am the leader of the Polar Foundation's First Union. As a matter of fact, I am the Foundation's main founder." The taxi driver smiled and said, "You helped me and family from that tornado two months ago! It's truly an honor to see you!"
I smiled, then he added, "Aww... shucks, it's sort of embarrassing to bring that topic up...", then I reassured him, "N-No-No, it's okay. I always get that many times..". Silence suddenly shrouded as the taxi speeds through the road. The traffic today's pretty good. As the Polar Foundation lasts longer, no accidents and crimes can be committed. All of a sudden the taxi driver replied, "What kind of people are there in the Foundation?", which sort of reminded me of someone who asked the same question, but I ignored the feeling, so I answered, "Well... they're all kind, crafty, and intellegent of what they do. They're always very happy to help, even at the most dangerous things that can happen.".
Twenty minutes later, we reached our destination. The taxi driver pulled in the car on the unloading part of the sidewalk. "I'll, uhh... let you go for free...?", the taxi driver shyly said. I pulled out my wallet and paid the taxi driver thirty dollars, I then said, "Keep the change", then he replied, "But... ma'am... this is too high of a pay... ma'am... thank you so much! How can I repay you?". I answered, "A happy citizen is enough of a payment to me." The driver smiled and shook my hand, we nodded, and we departed. The driver zoomed off as I looked up at the tall building.
The Polar Foundation building stood up from the ground and high enough to reach the skies, reflecting sunlight off its windows and shine like stars. The experience of being the founder of this organization is pretty difficult, but I managed to take care of it well. I never forgot the past; the killings, the recovery, the loss of his memories, all of them will always cave through the back of my head. It's a pain to remember it, but it's the only way I can think about them. I became unaware of my surroundings until someone pulled my hair.
